RUST BAN #5711
Rust Inhibitor

Prevents rust on iron and steel for up to two years when stored inside at ambient temperatures and humidity. Treated metal can be machined, stamped or welded as normally; remove with water before painting.

Recommended Use Dilutions
shown as % of solution volume & equivalent fluid ounces per gallon solution

Dilute in hot or cold water. The dilution required depends on the type of iron or steel, on storage conditions, and on duration of storage.
For protection up to 90 days, at least.............

3% Sol = 3.8 oz/gal.

For protection up to 2 years, at least.............

5% Sol = 6.4 oz/gal.

For any unusually severe conditions, up to....

10% Sol = 12.8 oz/gal.

For best results, apply by immersion or spray; may be painted on or wiped on. Normally, let air dry; blow-drying is faster but not necessary. A 3% solution on steel or cast iron dries in less than 3 hours under common conditions. When dry, the metal has no visual change; it feels smooth and waxy; it is not sticky.
