Film & Scum Remover - Rust Remover - Metal Brightener - Detergent

Removes soap film, light oil films, water spots, rust stains, metal tarnish, light rust and other oxides. Use on all metals including aluminum and soft alloys; use on painted surfaces, glass, rubber, plastics, concrete, porcelain, ceramic tile, asphalt tile, vinyl tile, circuit boards, and other materials known to be safe in dilute phosphoric acid solutions.

ONLY WHEN NECESSARY, after common detergents have failed, USE WITH CAUTION on marble, terrazzo, oxychloride, and magnesite. Careless use will cause pitting; avoid long exposure, rinse and neutralize at once with an alkaline detergent.

CAUTION! If used for regular cleaning of grouted surfaces, the surface must be sealed to prevent gradual deterioration of the grout. This effect on grout is typical of soap-film removers; soap film is principally calcium carboxylates formed by the calcium in hard water reacting with the fatty acids in soap. An effective soap-film remover must chelate of “dissolve” calcium; calcium is also a component of the Portland cements commonly used as grout.

Directions

Use plastic or rubber containers. Dilute in water to suit the job. The dilution required varies greatly depending on the quantity and kind of dirt, temperature of the solution, soak time allowed, porosity of the surface, and cleaning method.

Make initial test using 12 ounces per gallon of solution = 1:10 water; increase or decrease as needed. Some uses, such as removing rust stains from concrete, may need full-strength material; on concrete and similar substances, some etching will occur.

Apply by any convenient method; spray, brush, mop, pour, immersion. Let stand, usually for less than 3 minutes; if needed, scrub with brush or abrasive pad or use other method of agitation to provide close, moving contact with the dirt such as pressure spray, recirculation, ultrasonic device. Rinse with water.

Contains orthophosphoric acid, organic solvent, nonionic surfactant. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, especially in undiluted form. In case of contact, flush with water, eyes for at least 15 minutes; for eyes, get medical attention. Do not inhale spray. Use rubber or neoprene gloves for hand immersion. Keep out of reach of children.
