PENTATERJ
Steam Cleaning & Pressure Washing Compound
Heavy-Duty Floor Cleaning Detergent

A liquid detergent-solvent blend for use in any type of pressure-discharge or spray equipment where foam is acceptable. Use hot or cold. Use at any concentration on painted surfaces and bare metals including aluminum and other soft metals and alloys. Use on glass, plastics, rubber, ceramics, masonry, textiles, coated fabrics and similar. Use on floors where high accumulations of machine oils are a problem.

Active Components & Performance Properties

Contains buffered alkalies, organic chelant and sequestrant, corrosion preventative, rust inhibitor, organic solvent, and a synergistic blend of anionic and anionic wetting agents, penetrants and emulsifiers. Slightly viscous: it dissolves instantly in hot or cold water; its flow rate assures consistent , accurate dilutions when fed through a metering pump or suction device such as a venturi injector.

At recommended use dilutions it provides:

  • Quick wetting, penetration, dispersion, suspension and emulsification of dirt.
  • Solvent-booster action to remove the thin, adherent surface film which resists removal by detergents and pressure alone.
  • Foam sufficient to show the area sprayed.
  • Protection from rust and corrosion.
  • Quick, virtually spot-free rinsing due to low surface tension and deactivation of calcium and other hard-water ions.

Recommended Use Dilutions

Dilute in water to suit the job. The dilution required depends on the quantity and type of dirt, porosity of the surface, soak time allowed, pressure and temperature. Recommended per gallon of solution....
To remove light dirt from non-porous surfaces such as windows or ceramic tile walls

1 oz/gal = 1:127 water.

For most jobs on hard, non-porous surfaces

2 oz/gal = 1:63 water.

For oily conditions such as the dirt on machinery, exhaust fans, filters and ducts, and for porous surfaces such as tarps or concrete

6 oz/gal = 1:20 water.

For drive-thru car washes with power brushes:
Recirculation systems

1/2 oz/gal = 1:255 water.

Once-thru systems

1/4 oz/gal = 1:511 water.

Recommendations For Abnormal Conditions

If surface is so dirty that too much time is required to clean by normal methods, pre-spray at low pressure with full-strength Pentaterj, let soak up to 15 minutes, then pressure wash or steam clean at maximum pressure.

If dirt is unusually difficult to remove, such as some asphalts, tars, lubricants and resins, it is more efficient to pre-dissolve or pre-soften the dirt by applying a suitable Wash-Off Degreaser or Pre-Solv Solvent, let soak, then pressure wash or steam clean at maximum pressure.

If a thin, hazy film remains on the surface after normal washing, use the ACID-ALKALI SEQUENCE of application: At low pressure, flood the surface with Alumitone at 1:20 water, do not rinse; at low pressure, flood the surface with PENTATERJ at about 1:20 water; then pressure wash or steam clean at maximum pressure. CAUTION: To prevent etching of glass, do not use Alumitone at concentration over 1:20 water and neutralize Alumitone solution by applying PENTATERJ solution within 5 minutes.

Use Temperatures

Hot solutions, 120F to 180F, provide the most effective cleaning. “Cold” solutions, at ambient temperatures, are adequate for most types of dirt. For certain solid or thick substances which liquefy or soften at higher temperatures, hot solutions clean much faster and may be essential.

Charging Feed Tank

Most pressure washers and steam cleaners automatically dilute the feed solution with about 9 parts water. Use enough Pentaterj in the feed tank to allow for this automatic dilution. Example: If the equipment dilutes at 1:9 water, the concentration of Pentaterj in the feed tank must be 10 times the concentration desired at discharge.
