CARDITE #745
for
Masonry - Metals - Skylites - Special Uses
Masonry

Use to clean building EXTERIORS of brick, stone, concrete. Cardite #745 will remove general soil typically associated with age or industrial fumes; it will not remove vandalism marks such as paint, lipstick or grease pencil; such marks should be removed before overall cleaning.

Use for interior masonry ONLY WHEN NECESSARY after milder detergents such as Cardite #623 or Clean-N-Etch have proved inadequate.

Use from 1:3 water up to full strength. Spraying is usually the best method of application. May also be brushed or sponged on. Always let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Scrub if needed. Rinse with pressure washer or hose at maximum pressure.

SEE BELOW: General Directions, Special Uses, Precautions.

Metals

Use to clean EXTERIOR architectural aluminum which is very dirty, discolored or pitted. Cardite #745 will clean and brighten such aluminum regardless of condition.

Cardite #745 is very effective on interior architectural aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze and other metals but is rarely needed since such materials can usually be cleaned with common maintenance detergents.

The quantity required varies greatly with conditions. Use 6 ounces per gallon of water for initial trial, increase concentration until results are satisfactory. If not pitted, metals can frequently be cleaned and brightened by wiping with a sponge or cloth dipped in a solution of the proper concentration and rinsing with a second sponge or cloth dipped in plain water.

For extreme dirt or for pitted surfaces, much higher concentrations, up to full strength, may be needed. Apply with sponge, sprayer, paint brush, scrub brush or by immersion. Allow 3 to 10 minutes soak time; scrub with nylon pad or stiff brush and rinse thoroughly.

SEE BELOW: General Directions and Precautions.

Skylites

Recommended for FROSTED skylites and other very dirty FROSTED glass heavily soiled with industrial fumes or grime which can not be cleaned with milder detergents.

Eight ounces per gallon of water is usually adequate but extreme conditions may require more. If possible, glass should be hosed off with water first. Apply the cleaning solution by any convenient method; let stand 3 to 10 minutes, brush if needed, rinse thoroughly.

SEE BELOW: General Directions and Precautions.

General Directions

Use plastic or rubber buckets only. Use waterproof drop cloths. May ETCH and cause frosting of clear glass. May ETCH marble, granite, terrazzo, ceramic tile, other glazed surfaces and similar materials; protect such surfaces by masking with plastic sheets; in case of contact, rinse at once with water and neutralize by washing with an alkaline detergent.

Special Uses

ONLY WHEN NECESSARY, after milder detergents have failed, use WITH CAUTION to remove difficult stains and discoloration from grout, porcelain, and similar materials.
